Born in Portugal, Alex started his journey in the world of hospitality in 1992, since then he began to prefect his knowledge, starting by working in cruises as a sommelier; mastering the art of wine serving.
His professional experience was mostly in 5-Star hotels & high prestige restaurants.
In 1999 he graduated in hospitality management. Decided to work on his own in 2002, opening an event management company; organizing amazing weddings; cocktail receptions and several other functions. Later on wining two awards of event management in Portugal.
Finally giving priority to a high standard customer service, the chef decided to follow his ultimate passion for cooking and moved to London, gaining a fresh new experience by working for "Caraffini" restaurant in slone square.
Looking for inspiration and a life closer to the ocean, he moved to Newquay and created- the now called - 'The Portuguese Bar & Restaurant' personalized in traditional Portuguese Cuisine.
